Vacations update
Hi there! I'm still on vacations (I still have one week left) and I can just say that these vacations are being awesome! Being in Elvas was really cool and relaxing - so much that I ended being there two weeks instead of the planned one, and I already have plans to go there to new years eve. Pictures and more on that will come later. I won't go to Oporto or Lamego after all, but I'm still going to attend to BarCamp Portugal.
On the news, for those who decided not to follow my advice and read Planet Noori while I'm gone, here are the three things that got my attention the most:
First of all, Kaneva. This Web 2.0 social network aims to be the app we really need - an all-in-one web application. That means replacing blogger, flickr and it even has a virtual world! It has some flaws but I believe they'll try to fix them. I intend to post later a big post on this, but for now let's just say that I like it and you should take a look there.
Then, SellABand, a German startup that tries to act like a record label for registred artists. I also intend to do a full review on this later, and to sing Merankorii there, but I have to confess that I don't believe it's business model will make this service survive. Anyway, the fact that startups like this are starting to appear just show that there's a need to do something into the new music market reality, and Web 2.0 migth be a key tag on that future. I also think I'll talk more about that in my presentation on BarCamp Portugal.
Finally, we have the news that before XTech 2007 (which I hope I'll attend to), we'll have XTech WebDev London (at 31 October) and, while I know I won't be able to attend on that, I totally recomend you to go there if you can.
Now, I'm sorry but I have to leave you now: It's my first night in Coimbra this vacations and I have to get drunk ;-)
