It's all piracy when there is file-sharing, illegal and stupid sounding downloads, etc. There is so much trash on downloads, especially karaoke that I won't even sing a song that has all that crap on it. I can't even get a karaoke gig with all my cdg's because if illegal kj's and their stupid computers systems.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17758483.post-3427439768386223172007-12-10T15:21:00.000+00:002007-12-10T15:21:00.000+00:00For that reason *I* no longer buy CDs from major a...For that reason *I* no longer buy CDs from major artists and record labels. Prices go higher and higher not because of cost, but only because music executives and (yes) performers want to live the ULTRA luxurious life at the expense of the consumer.

To protect that life, they raise prices, sue people left and right, and stick all sorts of copy protection on their CDs, forcing consumers to install unwanted software just to listen to a little music.

For that reason *I* no longer buy CDs from major artists and record labels. And I'm sure there are many more out there like me.

I don't like anyone, especially greedy executives and performing artists, to dictate how I live my life and listen to my music.

As said in a very famous movie, "The more you tighten your grip, the more star systems will slip through your fingers."

That goes for music consumers as well. Personally, I'm glad the music industry is suffering so much. Maybe it will finally make them realize that they've been robbing the very people that enable them to live their lavish lifestyles. I doubt it though. Greed knows no bounds.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17758483.post-60196895768975764882007-11-30T11:58:00.000+00:002007-11-30T11:58:00.000+00:00Well, netvalar, as I said in a previous post, "Goo...Well, netvalar, as I said in a previous post,

"Good or bad? It really doesn't matter - even if its impact is proven to help the decrease of sales, it will never be in the order of magnitude of the decrease we're seeing in the last couple of years."

So yes, it has a microimpact, but not a decisive one. Anyway, as you might know, if some people say that the impact of file sharing is negative, as the case I cite in this article, there are some other studies that think that the impact is positive. And seeing the state of art of actual research on the issue, I would say that we won't get some really serious resaerch with a discreve conclusion at least for the next two years...Mind Booster Noorihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13655245207577274763noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17758483.post-1569168379079224042007-11-30T11:51:00.000+00:002007-11-30T11:51:00.000+00:00The way I see this is that price and consumer spen...The way I see this is that price and consumer spending power led to filesharing due to the industry not adopting the digital age. So in that regards file sharing should be part of your equation. Though piracy has not had the impact that most people would like us to believe it is only a small part of the whole equation.Netvalarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09218142747103807866noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17758483.post-4627517141146645182007-11-30T06:10:00.000+00:002007-11-30T06:10:00.000+00:00I agree with your sentiments. consumers are still ...I agree with your sentiments. consumers are still consuming and the population is only growing.
