GNUnet on Google's Summer of Code

As we can read, as a sub-project of GNU, GNUnet takes part in Google's Summer of Code.

Starting on May 1, Students may apply for stipends sponsored by Google to help GNUnet. The list of proposed projects is:

  • Port GNUnet to Java ("Freeway")
  • Create a webinterface for GNUnet
  • Port the GTK based user interface to Qt
  • Improve connection of NATted and firewalled peers
  • Other projects (give us your ideas)
IMHO, it would be real cool if someone decided to do a chat protocol over GNUnet. Even if an implementation is not feasible, a protocol definition and maybe a prototype would.
