Subscribe to Last.fm

Finaly I found out how to get back those features I had before on Last.fm: €2.50/month. I don't know if it just me, but I think that this subscription plan was completely unecessary: with the users, comunity, content and features that they have, Last.fm could be easily profitable without having to create "premium features". This way, they're creating one more possible flaw to their business: some other yet-to-be-released webapp that gives all that... for free. Oh, BTW, I'm a big fan of Last.fm.

    How do you see them making a profit out of the site without subscription plans? Just curious...

    Oh, and €2,50 is actually quite cheap.

  2. They used to be ads-supported, and I don't think there's the need for more than that...

    Regarding the price, let's analyze the advantages:

    1) you get no ads without having to use an ad-blocker;
    2) Personal Tag Radio <- basicly you can have several radios, similar to your playlist. Or, in other words, you get to be able to create more than one playlist;
    3) you can listen to your own Personal Radio;
    4) Loved Tracks Radio;
    5) Recent visitors to your profile page are listed in your sidebar;
    6) Top secret beta access.

    Since I don't pay to be a beta tester - sorry - there are five nice things, but from those I would only pay for (2), (3) and (4). Now, is it 2.50€ per month too much for those features? It depends on how would you use them, I suppose. For the use I would give them, it's way too much.

    Ainda tou À espera do artigo sobre o last.fm que disseste que ias fazer um dia...

    Quem é que te disse para usares o last.fm? Quem foi?

    Eu só uso aquilo por causa das estatísticas do que ouço, e a cena das recomendações até são fixes... Mas de resto: os foruns são uma merda, os grupos nao servem para nada, as shoutbox só servem para dizer merda, as rádios nunca usei..

    Bem fico à espera do artigo que prometeste.

    As rádios são bem mais fixes que as recomendações se quiseres conhecer novas cenas fixes - devias experimentar...

    Quanto ao artigo, virá a seu tempo :-)
